Police Blotter & Community Outreach

Dear Friends and Neighbors of the 5th Ward,



Please read below a very important message from our Police Chief.  To add to his report, a resident did see a white work van at one of the homes last Thursday between 12pm-2pm in the unit block of Ash Rd.

               Letter from Chief of Police :: Chief David Splain 

 I wanted to bring to your attention a series of incidents that have occurred over the course of the past three months in the 5th and 7th Wards.  The Police Department has responded to the addresses listed below to take reports of burglaries that have occurred in which the offender(s) have forced entry into the vacant residents and removed the copper pipes from the basement ceiling.  All three homes listed below were vacant at the time of the incident.  Could you please use your constituent email list to assist in getting the message out to the public, requesting that residents keep an eye on any vacant properties in their respective neighborhoods and report any suspicious activity to the police by dialing 911.

9/19/2013-          700 block of Oxford Lane
10/15/2013-        Unit block of Ash Road
