Nether Providence Township Family Day is scheduled for Saturday, September 15th, 2012
from 12noon until 4:00pm at the Strath Haven Middle School upper parking lot.

On June 16, 2012 at the Garden City Firehouse, in conjunction with the Delaware County Kennel Club, Nether
Providence Township hosted a Dog Micro-Chipping Clinic. What a huge success!! 104 dogs were micro-chipped
making it easier to reunited the dog with it’s owner is case the dog goes missing. Big thanks to the kennel club for
allowing Nether Providence Twp to host this event.
Many complaints have been fielded regarding the significant backup during rush hours from the new traffic signal
at Providence Rd and Bullens Lane, and have been addressed with PennDot. There is worry that this light will
remain in place after the bridge construction on MacDade Blvd is completed. THE TOWNSHIP DOES NOT
SUPPORT ANY TRAFFIC LIGHTS AT THIS INTERSECTION ONCE BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION IS
COMPLETED. Bridge construction on MacDade Blvd is scheduled to be completed sometime in November,
2012, HOPEFULLY!!!
Ordinace No. 764, Regulation for the planting, growing or cultivating of BAMBOO has been enacted. If you
would like information on this ordinance, email me and I will email it to you.
Ordinace No. 763, for Section §243-37 (Schedule V: Stop Intersections) has been passed enacting the
establishment and removal of stop signs after an extensive (and costly) analysis of all the areas submitted by the
Board of Commissioners. The engineer was limited to meet certain requirements, as dictated by PennDot, or by
existing ordinaces that directs certain parameters to be met.
The following stop signs will be eliminated:
Sheffield Dr, northbound, at Morris Lane
Meadow Ln, northbound, at Morris Lane
Meadow Ln, southbound, at Morris Lane
The following stop signs have been established:
Kent Rd, southbound, at Waterford Way
Morris Ln, eastbound, at Sheffield Dr
Morris Ln, eastbound, at Meadow Ln
Morris Ln, westbound, at Meadow Ln
Waterford Way, eastbound, at Devon Ln
Waterford Way, westbound, at Devon Ln
Pennsylvania Ave, eastbound, at Dover Court
Pennsylvania Ave, westbound, at Dover Court

last two years, and I am by no means a good golfer, but it was an enjoyable time. Contact the Garden City Fire

ANYONE LOOKING TO TAKE LOW-COST ADULT NIGHT CLASSES AT THE HIGH SCHOOL?
The Wallingford – Swarthmore Community Classes (WSCC), a non-profit organization, hosts and conducts adult
education night classes’ right in our own community. Please look for your Wallingford -Swarthmore Community
Classes brochure in the mail late this summer. Registration for fall classes will begin on August 28th. The
Wallingford – Swarthmore Comminity Classess just awarded 2 Strath Haven seniors each $2,000 in scholarship $
