The holiday season is upon us. Happy Hanukkah to those who are celebrating.  I was asked to pass along information for an event and an outreach program that is being sponsored by The Foundry Church that is located in the 5th Ward.  Below is the information.  They do a great service to Nether Providence Twp, and we are lucky to have them in the 5th Ward.

Note: we are collecting coats, blankets & sleeping bags for Philadelphia Shelters at the event

 

EVENT : 

Christmas Rocks –

Monday December 6^th – at 7:00 PM 

 "Christmas Rocks"  will 

 be held at Alumni Auditorium on the Widener University Campus, 14^th & Walnut Streets, Chester.  The program is Free and open to the public.  The evening will feature music by National Contemporary Christian artists; Brian Neal, Sunday Obsession and 4^th Man Furnace and special drama performance by Will Act For Food.  The event will also feature a live performance art painting of “the gift” by artists Dave Weiss and Joy Kieffer during the music performances.  The program serves as a celebration of Christmas and to encourage people to meet the needs of those without.   The public is invited to bring a new coat, sleeping bag, blanket, socks, or undergarments that will be collected and donated to area shelters for the homeless.  The program is sponsored by The Foundry Church of Wallingford in partnership with the Chaplain’s office of the Widener University Interfaith Center.
