Commissioner Up-Date

Hello friends and neighbors,
I hope this email finds you well. Welcome new 5th Ward additions to my email newsletters list.  Nice to meet you all on Nov. 2 at the Garden City Fire House.  I am working on the next newsletter and will be sending it soon.

The township is in the middle of budget season and one of the things we are considering is the reinstatement of the Summer Rec Program. In years past when we had the program the township typically paid 1/2 of the cost to run the program with the other 1/2 coming from registration fees. Historically the program cost a total of about $46,000-$49,000 with the township picking up half of that. We charged $160 for the younger kids (3-4 I think) and $130 for older kids, up to about 6th grade. The program was 5 weeks long and ran daily from 0830-11:15. As an FYI, my kids attended it and loved it.

My question is do you as residents \ taxpayers \ parents see this as a program that you feel is worthwhile funding.

Thanks very much for your time, any and all thoughts are appreciated.
Best Regards and have a nice weekend.
