As a following up to my previous email, I attended an Emergency Management Meeting regarding Hurricane Sandy. As the storm progresses towards us, Emergency Management Operation center (EMC) will be established as the weather worsens. The Operations Center will be at the Garden City Fire House and will coordinate the various agencies, including; police, fire, public works and other staff. Resources will be deployed where necessary and where safety could be compromised. Basement pumpout will be on a priority basis, where life and safety is threatened. While 911 is the optimal way to report an emergency, any non-emergency calls to the township building will be answered and filtered to the appropriate agency.
The Foundry Church will have shelter and food in case of an emergency. The church is located on the corner of Blakeley and Cedar Rds. If you would like to park your vehicle at NPE, you may do so. The Wallingford-Swarthmore School District is closed Monday and Tuesday.
