Stay Alert From Commissioner Larry Baker

Please read a police alert from the Chief of Police. This incident below DID NOT happen in Nether Providence Twp, but rather in Ridley Township. Nonetheless, it is close to home and you should know.

Ridley Twp Police had a report of an attempted child abduction on Friday, 23 DEC 2011 at 5:20 PM. This happened on Constitution Ave and Liberty Rd in front of the Woodlyn Community Center. The female child stated that a white male in his forties (40’s), wearing a light brown shirt with a beard, operating a blue four door sedan (possibly a Nissan), attempted to lure her into his vehicle in front of the Woodlyn Community Center. When the female ran off, the male fled down Constitution Ave toward Fairview Rd.
Nether Providence officers checked the immediate area and the Sproul Estates area with negative results. No other information is available at this time. Det Erickson will follow up with the Ridley Twp Police on this incident.
