Hi Friends, Neighbors and Newcomers to my email list,
You should have received, or will be receiving soon, your 65 gallon recycling can, green in color with a black cover and hot stamped "Nether Providence Township" on it. These cans were brought to you by the Board of Commissioners, including myself, from grant money awarded to Nether Providence Twp for recycling initiatives. The purpose was to improve our recycling program and encourage more residents to recycle, resulting in a greater protection of our environment, which I fully support. More importantly, this initiative has produced two positive outcomes, which I am proudly able to communicate.
First and foremost, I protected your right to choose your own trash hauler at a time where it was suggested by the recycling task force, including my opponent who co-chairs this same task force, that Nether Providence Twp switch to a single hauler for both trash and recycling.
Second, the Board of Commissioner's diligent effort in analyzing Nether Providence Twp recycling needs has translated into a reduction of the annual recycling fee.
I will continue to provide you with the level of service, protection and responsibility you deserve as a resident of Nether Providence Twp and the 5th Ward.
Warm Regards and remember to vote Tuesday, November 8th.
Larry Baker
Commissioner, 5th Ward
Nether Providence Township.
