Hi Friends and Neighbors,I had a few questions regarding yard waste and downed trees as a result of the recent hurricane. If you had a tree fall on your property, you would be responsible for the removal. If the tree falls across a township roadway, they public works dept would respond and cut the tree to make the roadway passable, however, would place the cuttings/wood on your property for removal. If the tree is on electric wires, the public works dept will not touch it until PECO or PennDot remove the tree from the wires. If your tree is blocking a state highway, PennDot responds, not the highway department.See below from the township website if you have small branches and yard waste from the hurricane.------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------ ------------------------------ ------------------------------ ------------------------------ --------------- YARD WASTE REMOVAL
Yard Waste (except grass clippings and weeds), leaves in biodegradable bags (NO PLASTIC BAGS) and bundled sticks will be collected by the Township Public Works Department the second Tuesday of each month. You may also drop off your yard waste at the Highway Garage. Please limit the amount to 15 bags and/or bundles.IF THE LEAVES ARE NOT IN BIODEGRADABLE BAGS THEY WILL NOT BE PICKED UP.IF THE STICKS ARE NOT BUNDLED THEY WILL NOT BE PICKED UP.YOU MUST CALL TO RESCHEDULE FOR THE NEXT SCHEDULED PICK-UP.To schedule a pick up, please contact the Township Municipal office at 610.566.4516 by the Monday prior to the scheduled Tuesday pick-up.------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------ ------------------------------ ------------------------------ ------------------------------ -------------- Warm Regards,Larry BakerCommissioner, 5th WardNether Providence Township
