Job expo at Springfield Country Club

SPRINGFIELD -- Job-seekers will have an opportunity to meet with dozens of representatives from a variety of industries at an Expo to be held Thursday, Oct. 11. Delaware County Council and Delaware County Transportation Management Association (DCTMA) have organized the event: 2012 Access to Jobs Expo taking place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Springfield Country Club.
DCTMA reported last year’s opportunities for 500 individuals who were able to meet with almost three dozen employers in areas such as transportation, health care, senior care facilities and staffing agencies.
Those looking for employment will be further assisted by the Delaware County Library System which will have several computer work stations function so attendees may fill out online applications on site. Online applications have become somewhat standard in human resources activities. Applicants are also encouraged to bring resumes and all other information which may be requested or appropriate.
Sponsors include Aqua America, Brandywine Conference and Visitor’s Bureau, Fair Acres Geriatric Center, Pennsylvania Institute of Technology, SEPTA, TD Bank, Goodwill Industries of Delaware and Delaware County.Springfield Country Club is located at 400 W. Sproul Rd. There is ample free parking. Public transportation includes SEPTA’s Route 110 bus from 69th St. which has a stop directly at the site. Free shuttle buses will also run from the Chester Transportation Center.
The Access to Jobs EXPO is also presented by Pennsylvania CareerLink, the Delaware County Commerce Center, and the Delaware County Chamber of Commerce.
