Hey Friends and Neighbors,     Three quick upcoming events.........     Wednesday evening 10/26 is Garden City Fire Company's annual fire safety open house beginning at 6:30p. The evening will  feature equipment displays, activities for the kids, fire prevention hand-outs, membership information, refreshments and much more.  They would love to see you there along with your family, plus, its right in our back yard.  As a firefighter myself, its a great time to bring your kids up and start those childhood dreams of becoming a firefighter.  For those parents who's teenager is interested in a pursuing a calling or serving their community, this is also a great opportunity.   On Saturday, 10/29, its DRUG TAKE BACK DAY from 10am-2pm at the Nether Providence Police Dept located at the township on Sykes Lane.  Bring your old, expired or unwanted/unused prescriptions to the police department for proper disposal.  No questions asked.      FINALLY.........   Two opportunities for neighborhood kids to have fun next weekend as a part of the Light the Night – Safe Halloween Weekend @ the Foundry Church     October 29th Saturday from 1:30 – 4:00 PM   SLIME PARTY!!!! – Neighborhood Block Party for Kids!  Dare to do the chair!!!  Similar to the Nick in the Afternoon - Slime  – First 75 kids who get slimed will receive a Kids Meal coupon for Free Chickfila.   Moon bounce for young ones, Games, and free goodies & food     October 31 dusk   3rd annual Candy give-away stop by for a free goodie bag of sweets  Both events will be held in the Foundry church parking lot  Blakeley & Walnut Roads     I would like to thank everyone who has supported me by placing a sign on their lawn, or giving me words of encouragement for the upcoming election.  I am truly grateful.  Hopefully I will be able to continue my service to the community.  Don't forget to vote on Tuesday November 8th   Warm Regards,   Larry Baker Commissioner, 5th Ward Nether Providence Township
