Getting Past Addiction :: You are not alone!

Drug addiction starts when people feel so much pain and disappointment about their lives that they try to self-medicate that pain away. Some people think that drugs or alcohol are the answer; it is a temporary fix and only offers temporary relief. It is not the answer. You deserve to give yourself a chance to try life on the other side. Once the body becomes accustomed to receiving the drug of choice, it reacts unpleasantly to its absence to say the least. As the addiction becomes stronger, so does the craving for the next fix, and it's this vicious cycle of addiction that traps so many people within its grasp. The number of people addicted are startling and we need to keep an open dialogue with our children so that they can feel safe enough to discuss some of the challenges they will face or are facing now.
